PACIFICTION REVIEW:

Another great split by Leek Records, this time uniting three great punk bands of completely different styles and from different countries. THE QUEERS kick off the CD with three of their classic pop punk rock songs. Who doesn't remember driving around to "Punk Rock Girls" blaring on college radio? The satirical "Danny Vapid" pretty much sums up the macho degradation of 90's punk and "Another Girl" is just a simple RAMONES style bubblegum pop tune.

CONSIDER THE MEEK offer a more melodic approach to social and political issues with lyrics that rage against abuse, exploitation and American imperialism. Their set opens the title track from their new album Now Generation, a tirade against blind consumerism and apathy. "Leave Me Alone" is metaphoric plea for animal rights. The anti-war statement "This Is All I Have" comes off as tactful and poignant.

And now for something completely different... THE VICKERS let loose a perfect riot for a rock 'n' roll party! Chisato's vocals on "Voice" ring true and clear as she sings contemplatively, "Does my voice arrive to your sanctuary?" Next we have "Come On Rudies," a nostalgic throwback to the days of punks, skins and rock n' roll! Ending the split is an ELECTRIC EEL SHOCK-like attempt at melding metal and punk called "Strike Back The Lightning."

Spanning a couple decades and several countries, this split is a unique addition to your punk rock collection.
