Forming in 2003 after Chisato, formerly of the all-female punk band THUG MURDER (TKO Records), and Kenta666, from the hardcore band REAL SHIT, started collaborating, the VICKERS quickly carved a name for themselves as one of Japan's fiercest rock n' roll acts. They released their first mini-album Stab Your Back, now out-of-print, which was quickly followed up with three brutal albums. The band caused a stir in Taiwan when they played the island's Formoz Festival, and later when they returned for the Anti-pop series. Recently, tiny terror Annie joined taking on bass duties and THE VICKERS sound louder and more striking than ever!

PACIFICTION REVIEW:THE VICKERS once again dive bomb Japanese punk fans with an action-packed mini-album that promises to please those that are craving for more "Monster Rock 'n' Roll" built on punk speed, metal edge and hardcore attitude. The title track "Don't Slow Me Down" gives us an aggressive chorus to shout along with, wicked riffing and a devious tone suitable for a biker flick. Chisato grabs the mic for the last time with the group on "All In My Imagination" singing in a bright vox with ironic nostalgia. Gravelly vocals, searing guitars and a raw energy that's rare to be found are signatures of THE VICKERS; and all are reasons why this band must be heard! |
