Starting out in 2000 as a perky all girl band, PEPPERCATS became known for their cute costumes and bouncy stage presence. They placed among the finalists at the 2001 Ho-Hai-Yan battle of the bands and have continued to perform over the years at Taiwan's big festivals including Formoz and Spring Scream. While the band underwent a line-up change after the release of their first album UFO, lead singer and songwriter Sheria continued to make new music, and PEPPERCATS recorded a follow-up album entitled Everybody Is Gay in 2007.

PACIFICTION REVIEW:The second release from one of Taiwan's favorite girl bands is cute, colorful and playful with styles that range from punky pop to bouncy indie rock. And the song themes remain as flippant as ever with subjects ranging from the magic of email to demanding hugs. Several notable tracks include "Osaka," a tribute to a favorite city, which contains ska stylings, and track 9 with its electronic beats and quirky choruses. Lead singer Sheria's voice is bright and perky as she strums out fuzzy guitar chords to tight rock rhythms. PEPPERCATS are sure to have you under their magical spell with these songs! |
