One of Taiwan’s original indie bands who were first featured on a TAIWAN COLORS MUSIC compilation with other bands like SODAGREEN and WON FU that have gained an island-wide following, BRACES continue to play indie rock charged with energetic cuteness. Forming in 2000 with 88 GUAVA SEEDZ’s A Chang on guitar, they became an all girl band in 2004 when he was enlisted in military service and Yifun took over. In the same year the band released the Playground EP and headlined Let's Girl! parties alongside other Taiwanese girl bands like B.B. BOMB and HOTPINK. More recently, the BRACES have begun to experiment with brighter new wave sounds and disco punk beats.

TRACK LIST:
PACIFICTION REVIEW:Four fun BRACES tunes that range from bouncy cutie punk to kindergarten rock. The first track "Doggy" could be the daily soundtrack for walking your favorite furry friend. "Chocolate" is a quirky look at love and sweets. "巧克力" and "感冒藥" resemble lullabies with a soft indie touch. BRACES are one of the most original and influential Taiwan girl bands and Playground is a milestone in Taiwan girl band history. |
