Two average Japanese salary men and a Taiwanese office lady began playing music in their freetime. On the weekends, they started playing in clubs around Taipei as SMOL... Salary Man/Office Lady! Soon one of the Japanese members left for Amsterdam and a Taiwanese drummer stepped in while the original drummer Chaka became the front-salaryman. While in Holland, Saco sent recorded material over the web to keep the band on top of the Taipei indie rock scene.

PACIFICTION REVIEW:By day Chaka is a mild-mannered salary man and Olga is quite a normal office lady, but after they clock out and plug in their guitars they become Salary Man/ Office Lady... SMOL! Yawaraka Flou from 7 Inch Vinyl Records is a pleasant collection of My Bloody Valentine influenced indie rock tracks. Chaka's captivating vocals over a back drop of sweet guitar sounds pushes the album through moments of brightness and clarity that crash in walls of pure introspective indie pleasure. These songs remind me of the soundtrack for the film Lost In Translation, only if it were set in Taipei. |
