Starting out in the mid-90's, WATER CLOSET fused biting CLASH style guitars with indie rock and melodic punk. They quickly made a name for themselves in a scene with other popular Japanese punk acts of the day including DISGUSTEENS, HI-STANDARD and HUSKING BEE, and even released material on the infamous Pizza of Death label.

PACIFICTION REVIEW:The second release from WATER CLOSET is a flurry of melodic punk and alternative guitar sounds reminiscent of the more edgier indie groups of the 90's. The album opens with a resounding bugle call then rushes into Asuka's bright vocals and a jumpy beat on the optimistic "Today is better than Yesterday." Many of the songs have an up beat vibe with catchy choruses where Asuka and bass player Shimo trade off vocals. "Keep on Punk Mind" is a good example of their style while hinting at their ideals of keeping a youthful perspective. While WATER CLOSET are characterized by clean distortion and tight rhythms, they often embellish their songs with acoustic strumming and subtle metal stylings. Again & Again will have you listening to WATER CLOSET over and over! |
