Lead by Kim, a Japan-born Korean who shows his appreciation for THE CLASH with a tattooed portrait of Joe Strummer framed in chains on his back, DOING LIFE swaggers on in their heroes footsteps with classic punk songs about life and struggle. Over the past 10 years the band released two full length CDs and toured the West Coast. More recently DOING LIFE appeared on the Meltdown compilation alongside the best punk and hardcore bands from Japan and NYC to date.

TRACK LIST:
PACIFICTION REVIEW:The latest release from DOING LIFE best demonstrates their affliction towards punk rooted in THE CLASH while going their own way at the same time. "Working Class Hero" is a barrage of classic punk ethic and sound. While full of rocking anthems, the album sticks out with songs like "Go Forward" that will have you cheering along with the chorus. "Doinglife Citybabies" has a definitive and danceable rock 'n' roll twist. Touching on a rockabilly groove is "Get Up Rudy," appealing to all the skins that grew their hair out. "No Time" is a fast-paced cover of the obscure MEGA CITY FOUR which follows into the band's staple "Tommy Got His Gun." The final track is an obvious ode to their hero, "Never Say Never (But Joe Said...)," which leads the listener to believe that DOING LIFE has way too much dedication and life experience to be over-looked. |
