Lead by Kim, a Japan-born Korean who shows his appreciation for THE CLASH with a tattooed portrait of Joe Strummer framed in chains on his back, DOING LIFE swaggers on in their heroes footsteps with classic punk songs about life and struggle. Over the past 10 years the band released two full length CDs and toured the West Coast. More recently DOING LIFE appeared on the Meltdown compilation alongside the best punk and hardcore bands from Japan and NYC to date.

TRACK LIST:
PACIFICTION REVIEW:The first full length by DOING LIFE is great collection of punk rock songs touching on styles similar to THE CLASH, JOAN JETT and STRAY CATS. "Brigade Rosse" opens the album with charging determined posture while "...Black Lespaul" is a catchy rock n roll song about making the most of a bad situation; "I Just polish black Lespaul!" The rhythmic blitz of "50 Bucks" is sure to get the night rolling like you have money to spend. "What A Wrongful World" delves into the experience of a Korean growing up in a post-war Japan society. Following with a punk rockabilly twist is "Whisky River," while "Lydia" is some kinda love song. Threatening Letter remains an excellent album full of personal experience and classic punk sounds for all those willing to listen. |
