About the Band

CRISPY NUTS

After the break up of SUPER RASCALS in 1995, Momo and Takkan got CRISPY NUTS together on an offer to play in London where they would end up staying for some time playing out regularly and also recording new material. By 1999, CRISPY NUTS had released several EPs on the UK-based labels Cawpat Records and Wrench Records and the Italian label Rockin' Bones. After touring Europe and several member changes, the band went on hiatus until they reformed in 2002 and started their own company Crispy Nuts-Label in order to release a collection called I Love Crispy Nuts which was followed by a second album entitled Who Cares? on Buddy Records in 2005. After touring Europe yet again, and facing yet more line-up changes, Momo and Takkan keep up the pure punk rock to this day.

PACIFICTION REVIEW:

I Love Crispy Nuts is the band's first full album which features some of the tracks released earlier on 45's by the UK based labels Cawpat Records and Wrench Records and the Italian label Rockin' Bones. With the addition of many punk ditties, the album becomes a complete free for all sing along riot! Momo, with her attention grabbing vocals and distortion heavy riffs, side by side with Takkan on thumping bass make up a raucous drink-or-die duo with 100% pure punk rock sound. CRISPY NUTS have been on the forefront of the Tokyo punk scene and this record serves as a great introduction to it as well as then band.
