VIVIAN BOYS
This stylish Japanese group takes their name from outsider artist Henry Darger's fantastical manuscript reflecting a similar clash of sound and vision in their music, which in some cases reaches back in time to Showa era pop. Since forming in 2006, VIVIAN BOYS have performed alongside similar Tokyo mod and garage groups including SIX, MADAME CATS and THE FADEAWAYS, and have supported the high-powered ATOMIC SUPLEX on their Japan tours.

PACIFICTION REVIEW:
Take a fantastical trip into enfer with the VIVIAN BOYS on their second EP. This mini-album opens with a danceable freakbeat explosion with cool vox by Nao☆Nao who lends a Showa pop vibe to her songs. Then the music breaks down into a garagey noise experiment drawing the listener further into its hallucinatory trance. "Kiss Me Kill Me," dedicated to Edie Sedgwick, is a Nuggets-inspired piece of fuzzed out psychedelia. Enfer ends with Nao☆Nao singing a Japanese language version of the MARTHA & THE VANDELLAS girl group classic "(Love Is Like A) Heatwave" adding yet another dimension to the band's repertoire. As colorful and vibrant as ever, let VIVIAN BOYS take you on flights of fuzz and fantasy.
