THE HARPY's
Out of the dust and estrogen left behind by FALSIES ON HEAT, Satomi and Maki picked up their guitars and blasted out some more quirky, punk tunes influenced by 90's garage girl punk and Riot Grrrl ferocity. Joined by Tomo, who they made dress in drag whenever he drummed for them, they recorded some demos and toured the NY area. They're song "5x6" won a commercial spot for a Fred Perry campaign in Japan. Then, Tomo left and they recruited Ai-chan, finalizing their line-up and releasing their debut album Are Your Kidding Me?

PACIFICTION REVIEW:
Equally ferocious and quirky, THE HARPY's debut full-length is a cocktail of aggro-pop and punky sensibilities channeling early crossover garage/pop punk girl groups like RED AUNTS and others surrounding the Seattle/Olympia scenes. On this record, Satomi and Maki trade off-lead vocals on several songs balancing the group's faux-burlesque quality, heard on "BUT," and the in-your-face attitude of songs like "No means no." Ai-chan adds the cute element from the drum-kit. On songs like "Clushed cake," these three personalities clash in a cluster of vocal sensation that can almost be heard in colors.
