Group Sounds was a movement in Japan in the late 60's that was started by bands like THE TIGERS and THE SPIDERS who were influenced by American garage and psychedelic rock. Forty years later, the youth have taken up the mantle... THE CAPTAINS, to be exact, are credited with sparking not only a resurgence of GS in Japan but also an interest in the West! The band has released two albums in the US offering fans overseas a glimpse into Japan of the 60's with their apt covers and striking originals.
