The Indonesian Scene

Taking influence from UK punk of the late 70's and emerging 80's hardcore, Indonesia's punk scene didn't come into full force until the early 90's as the government's authoritarian grip on free speech began to weaken.

By the mid 90's the scene had diversified to include a plethora of DISCHARGE style anarcho hardcore bands like JERUJI as well as more mainstream-oriented groups like HAPPY DAY and SUPERMAN IS DEAD that draw on California pop punk and punk rock 'n' roll.
